Celebrating the return home from Iraq of Capt. Tom Daggett USMC, 12-21-08

And our thanks to the Daggett family for their kind note of appreciation:
Dear Friends,
Our son, Tom, and the entire family were (and still are) deeply moved by the warm
loving welcome and support of this caring community on Sunday at his homecoming. As
we personally stood in awe of such expression of love and gratitude for him and his
service, we were/are at a loss for words to adequately express our heartfelt thanks.
Being on the receiving end of this outpouring of love and support is truly a
remarkable experience.
There is much organization that goes on behind the scenes to get these amazing
homecomings orchestrated with many people to thank. Our sincere gratitude goes out
to ALL who contributed in Tom's homecoming and to those who tirelessly work to make
all the homecomings such successes.
We have been getting positive feedback from people who were not here but saw the
newscast of the event.
This community has much to show other communities for the proper way to receive our
military. Hopefully, this example of heartfelt warmth and patriotism will catch on
more and more.
Please know how eternally grateful we are to all of you who make it happen: PMF,
especially Chris Miller, Pat Frizzell and Doug Miller (to name just a few) who
dedicate so much time and energy to this endeavor; Bryan Weldon with the Lafayette
Flag Brigade; PGR (Thanks, Spike, et al.); VFW: Scottish American Military Society;
Blue Star Moms, Operation SAM, Councilmember Jerry Thorne and ALL the many friends
and members of the community. We apologize if we've left any group out; it would be
out of sheer oversight.
Our deepest heartfelt thanks to you all.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Barbara & Tom Daggett
